What are the Continuing Education requirements?

Texas
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 28 hours of CE every two years by the end of the month in which the license was received.

Louisiana
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 30 hours of CE every two years before the December 31st deadline of the year in which the license expires.

Arkansas
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 28 hours of CE every two years before the licensee’s expiration month of the even numbered years. Up to 21 hours of CE can be completed online. However, the 7 hour USPAP Update course cannot be taken online.

Mississippi
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 28 hours of CE every 2 years before the month in which the license expires.

Colorado
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 42 hours of CE every 3 years before the December 31st CE deadline.

New Mexico
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 28 hours of CE every 2 years before the April 30th deadline of the year in which the license expires.

Utah, Tennessee
Real Estate Appraisers are required to take 28 hours of CE every 2 years before the date in which the license expires.

Are there any specific courses required?

Texas, Utah
An appraiser is required to take a 7 hour USPAP Update course every other year. All 28 hours of CE can be taken online.

Louisiana
An appraiser is required to take a 7 hour USPAP Update course every other year. All 30 hours of CE can be taken online.

Arkansas
An appraiser is required to take one 7-hour USPAP update course as part of their 28 hours of CE. The 7-hour USPAP Update can be taken online. However, Nebraska students are not permitted to take the USPAP Update online.

New Mexico
An appraiser is required to take a 7 hour USPAP Update course every other year. A student can take up to 21 hours online. The 7-hour USPAP Update can be taken online as part of the 21 hours online.

Colorado
An appraiser is required to take a 7 hour USPAP Update course every other year. All 42 hours of CE can be taken online.

Tennessee
An appraiser is required to take a 7 hour USPAP Update course every other year. Appraisers are allowed to take a maximum of 14 hours of CE online.

Course Completion Questions


How do I receive my course completion certificate?

At the end of the course, you are able to print a copy of your completion certificate. You will need to keep this completion certificate in your files for renewal or auditing purposes.

How do my hours get submitted for CE credit?

Texas, New Mexico, Louisana, Arkansas, Colorado, Tennessee
Columbia Institute is not required to submit a CE roster to the state. Therefore, the student must keep a copy of their completion certificates on file for auditing or renewal purposes.

Mississippi, Utah
Columbia Institute is required to submit a CE roster to the state 30 days after the course has been completed. Students must keep a copy of their completion certificates on file and submit a copy of the course completion certificates at renewal.
